FAQ

Montreal moving questions, answered.

How much does a Montreal move cost?+

Most local 3½–4½ apartment moves in Montreal fall between $95–$135/hour for a 2-mover crew and truck, with a 3-hour minimum. Larger homes typically run $145–$185/hour with a 3-mover crew. Every job gets a written flat-rate or binding hourly quote before we start — no surprise fees.

Do you move on July 1st (Fête du déménagement / Moving Day)?+

Yes — July 1st is our busiest day of the year in Quebec. We book July 1 slots starting in March and add extra crews and trucks for the day. If you're moving on the 1st, reserve at least 4–6 weeks in advance to lock in your window.

Are you licensed and insured for moving in Quebec?+

Yes. Allo Moving is CTQ-permitted (Commission des transports du Québec), carries commercial cargo and general liability insurance, and issues a formal bill of lading (connaissement) on every job.

Can you handle Plateau-Mont-Royal spiral staircases?+

Every day. Our crews are trained on Montreal's exterior spiral staircases and narrow triple-decker interiors — we use proper straps, shoulder dollies and, when needed, hoist furniture over the balcony rail. Bring us your worst 3rd-floor walk-up.

Do you reserve building elevators and loading docks?+

Yes. For downtown condos and commercial buildings we coordinate the elevator reservation and loading-dock booking with your building manager as part of the job scope.

Do you move in winter?+

Yes — we move year-round, including January and February. Floors get protective runners, contents are wrapped against moisture, and we salt icy walkways as needed. Winter moves are also our lowest-rate season.

Do you speak French?+

Oui — notre équipe est entièrement bilingue. All quotes, contracts and on-site communication are available in English or Français.

Do you offer packing supplies?+

Yes — boxes, tape, bubble wrap, wardrobe boxes, mattress bags and TV cartons are available for pickup or delivered to your door before the move.
